All human beings, regardless of their age, share the same basic needs, which can however be met through many different strategies.
For example, we all need to express ourselves and to receive attention; but these needs can be fulfilled in various ways and at different times.
Children and adults alike, when encouraged to use their creativity, can become better able to appreciate differences and to benefit from the richness of diversity; they can thus abandon preconceived strategies in favour of creative solutions, springing from dialogue and exchange with others.
In Charlie and the clock attention is focused on the needs for listening and self-expression that adults and children share.
